fall 2015 sorority rush from a mom's perspective

by: A mom

As a non Greek parent I was clueless when my daughter said she wanted to rush.. I found this site today and am a bit concerned reading these reviews. She has 6 friends going through rush and I am close with all the girls and their parents. This has been a harsh wake up call for many of the girls and their parents especially being 3+ hours away. Since there are 7 of the girls I will break down what we as parents have shared. I will start by saying that all but one of the 7 are brunettes. None of parents are alums so that was not a consideration. All of the girls had at least 3 to go back to visit on Sunday and 4 of the 7 had 4 to visit.
The trend the moms see if that all 7 of the girls thought Gamma Phi & Zeta girls were extremely nice and seemed real, yet they both cut the blonde and kept all the brunettes. DPhi was one of the favorites of all 7 after the 1st day yet they only called back 2 (tears), again the blonde was in this group. Only the blonde was kept after the 1st day by Phi Mu and while she is a beautiful girl her "stats" were not as impressive as 4 of the other girls, GPA, clubs, sports, etc so her mom was kind of shocked at this. 4 of 7 have KD and Zeta as their top choices and really can't decide who they like better as they really felt a connection with both groups of girls. The blonde dropped Phi Mu as she said she wanted diversity so she has DPhi and AOPi as her top 2. I'll update after they get the word on who invited them all back and hope for no more tears

Please get off of this site, this website is not for parents, its for Greek life students. I'm trying to tell you this nicely before someone harshly curses you out over it. If I was your daughter, I'd be thoroughly embarrassed to see that you're on here posting on this website.
