will i be accepted by both frats and sororitys?

by: yo

I’m black but want to rush a Panhellenic sorority and was wondering if there were any undertones of racism from either sororities and/or fraternities. I know it’s 2019 but come on we racism still exists. I just want to know if there are any sororities that I should stay away from and if I will be looked at as an outcast but any groups both male and female since I know of course they interact regularly. Thanks in advance!

Even the most country ones that go hunting and fishing and out doors stuff in KA and KS don't care. Everyone bids and initiates African Americans, Racism in Greek life is only a problem really with alumni sometimes and none of our donating alumni from any fraternity other than SNu(southern poly in the 70s or early 80s?), OX(mid eighties, KSUs oldest fraternity.), And pi kappa phi(early 90s.). And even they all don't care, and still have very supportive alumni networks. Nobody cares!

At other places however, UGA, GT, with fraternities from the 1800s.... It's a whole different story.. Im just saying I couldn't tell you.

You're right racism exists but luckily KSUs Greek life is diverse for the most part. Look at kappa sig and DTD. Ox and SNu. Phi Mu and other sororities like DPhiE GPB and ZTA AOll literally everyone and anyone I forgot, are all diverse. Good luck if you decide to rush.
