sorority rush
by: Sorority girlHow hard is sorority rush? And how many bids do all of them give out compared to how many rush? And since I'm going to be a sophmore does that matter to them?

I think maybe Phi Mu and Kappa Delta might drop you since you're a sophomore, unless you really woah them. None of the sophomores in my rush group got them past Sisterhood rounds. If you have a GPA below 3.0 you'll get some heavy cuts, and while recommendation letters aren't needed they might help. KSU has two newer sororities so those two are generally more likely to take upperclassmen, though you should be fine with anyone outside of PM/KD. KSU's problem is a lot of women, and too few sororities to handle it. Last year 700+ women rushed and the max in previous years was around 400. When you rush please know that if you get cut 95% of the time it's not you! We might like you a lot, but it's all a massive numbers game that gets run through nationals. Informal Rush is always an option too, and it's just as great as Formal.

This is why ADPi is going to be on sooner than most people think... Dont be surprised if theyre aloud as early as spring 2018. If i were you id get into contact with some of the girls starting ADPi here if you dont get who you want during rush. We need atleast 2 more sororities to keep up with all of the growth.

I'm so sorry! That didn't come across right. All the sophomores from my pledge class got dropped from Phi Mu and Kappa first round, they still got bids from other sororities they loved! You'll be fine, I'm sure of it. And Fall 2017 rush is totally different then Fall 2016 rush. You'll find a home!

More solid options for girls. EVERY sorority even ADPi even though its underground have fun and close sisterhoods. Plus sororities are going to start to be less selective this coming year to make up for last.

Exactly what they said. Quotas have and will change, no one, and I mean no one, was fully expecting the turn out we got last year. People will be better prepared and the formal rush will reflect that!

So sororities are gonna be more open to accpeting girls and not as picky? And getting more numbers for pledge classes next year?

I don't think you have anything to worry about!! I just rushed this past fall as a sophomore and got a bid from a "top" sorority. There are a few juniors in my pledge class and a TON of sophomores. It definitely won't cut you from phi mu or KD immediately like one of the other commenters said (Me and like 20 girls in my pledge class are proof of that)

I can't give you an exact number that my chapter goes by, but typically chapters (except for like phi mu which is a 3.5 or you get automatically dropped) are more lenient if you're already in college. Basically the high school gpa requirement is higher than the college gpa requirement.

i'm not a phi mu so i cant give you exact answers but ive been told my sisters that they cut off everyone at a 3.5 no matter what. you can be perfect and they cut at a 3.5

They all dropped at sisterhood? Or got dropped?
A lot of girls older in my group got bids from kinda every where
If you have a good gpa, great personality, and recs then you should be fine
And knowing girls already in a sorority will help because they know to pull for you and know how u are as a person
So don't get freaked out!
