how acceptable is it to rush as a second year, will i get a bid from a bottom tier since I'm a year older?

are you rushing a sorority or fraternity? I cant speak for fraternities, but I know for rushing a sorority being a sophomore doesn't really matter.

i honestly think you'll be fine. they wont straight up ask you "why are you rushing now and not last year?" (well some sororities will) but they will ask you something along those lines so you might want to have a good answer prepared. they'll probably ask you "why did you decide to go through recruitment?"

No, most of us don't care what you are. You have a better chance in most sororities if you're rushing as a freshmen or a sophomore because you'll put in more to the organization/be around longer.
