The AKA’s were very friendly and welcoming when I came to their table at Meet the Greeks. They sent me emails about upcoming events in which I attend even though they were held at different colleges. Before attending the events, I done research to make sure AKA would be a right fit for me. When going to those events, the AKA’s from Kean and the AKA’s from the visiting school greeted me with a smile. I was shocked that they remember me and the sisters from the other chapters knew who I was because many sororities barely remember their interests face and name. Do not get me wrong, I love the AKA’s, but I wish they were more involved on Kean’s campus because I wanted to join them. The following semester, I notify the Greek Senate I want to join ALA. He said that I cannot join AKA because they did not meet the community service standards that all Greek Org’s must obtain in order to remain active.
