frat rush

I want to transfer here next year and rush a frat. Will I be at a big disadvantage? Also what does it mean that some pledge and some don't? And do any of the frats have houses off campus in addition to the lodges? Where are they? (im from Richmond but don't know where the houses would be)

Yeah I'm trying to transfer to UR too & was wondering the same thing.. Also would I be at a disadvantage during rush if I was from TX and not VA?
