how tough is rush at ksu?
by: go catsI’m at high school senior and most likely coming to K-state next year. I have no family that’s been Greek and few friends in several houses. I have good grades, great involvement, and a great resume. What kind of house can I expect to get? I know k-state rush is nothing like UofArk or Texas schools but how hard is it actually?

If you want to Go Greek I think you have a very good chance of joining a chapter here!
I’d say the difference compared to some SEC and other schools with strong Greek systems is that at K-State legacies and letters of recommendation are no guarantees of anything. Which is ok. I think it’s better to be accepted somewhere on your own merits than riding on someone else’s membership of years ago.
If you go through Recruitment with both an open mind and the intention of finding the chapter you can call home for 4 years based on current COMPATIBILITY you’ll find your spot and hopefully be very happy. 😃
There are always disappointed people every fall season but those rejected by a chapter shouldn’t feel bad for long. Who would want a social life and a home away from home built around people who don’t accept you for who you are? No thank you.
Keep your head high and find the group that welcomes and embraces you for YOU and don’t settle for anything less. That’s my advice.
I hope you come to K-State and love it! EMAW!

its not outright rejection all the time. Houses are only allowed a certain number of open spots and can only take so many girls each rush. its really all a numbers game and it is a mutual selection process remember. Now that there are 13 sororities and I think over 20 frats here there ought to be a place for everyone who wants to Go Greek. you have to go in with an open mind and without preconceived ideas to have a good experience
