did i hurt my chances by being on campus too much?
by: A little worriedI'm super excited to rush but I've been getting comments that maybe I hurt my chances at a good rush by being on campus too much already. I have good reasons for it - is it something I should try to bring up in conversations and explain?

If you mean you're a sophomore rushing then not really. Plenty of houses will take you. I'm not going to lie it only hurts in the sense that you will be there for less time than the rest of your pledge class. but it really shouldn't make that much of a difference. If you mean that you've been here a lot for orientation - don't sweat it. We see tons of incoming freshman throughout the year so no one would remember you. I would definitly not bring it up. It makes it sound like you're over compensating and that you'll be a risky bid. But do correct me if I'm wrong and neither of those situations were what you meant

oh for sure. Honestly if you ran into any sorority girls they probably don't remember you. Not trying to be rude but I feel like when you go to college you see so many people everyday that you don't remember faces as much as you did in high school. Honestly if you do get to know girls in the current greek houses (before rush) you have more leverage with that house! Simply because girls can 'put in a good word for you.' So if they remember you, great! If the don't, you definitly haven't hurt your chances! Good luck with recruitment!
