Is it frowned upon to text the guys in the frats to see if they're doing anything? Or should i just wait for them to text me?

Chances are they'll text you eventually but who cares just text them they won't care.

Just text them. If anything they'll note your enthusiasm. Plus, there's a small chance your number was taken down incorrectly.
