fraternity rankings

Potentials: Get rid of any stigmas you may have about a fraternity. Some may be right; some may be wrong, but form them from being in a fraternity or interacting with the guys in them. Some chapters don’t like being called “frats”. I don’t see anything wrong with it but hey, to each their own.
This list is in no way saying any fraternity is bad. I am taking into account all aspects unbiased. Philanthropy, brotherhood, social life, participation on campus… etc. If you go solely off this list, you are doing it wrong. This is merely a guide to the current status of the fraternities on campus. This list can and does change by semester. All it takes is one screw up to ruin a fraternity temporarily or one really good thing to better them.
As for hazing, there’s no reason for it. This is supposed to be a group of gentlemen. If your future brothers feel a need to haze you, then they aren’t a group you want to be with.
Disclaimer: If you are looking for a biased ranking based just off of who can party the best, go somewhere else.

• Top Tier
o Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE)
• With 89 guys, SAE knows what’s going on. They just won fraternity of the year. The brotherhood between many of them is excellent. They participate on campus and won 1st place in Greek Week.
o Sigma Chi (Sig Chi)
• Sigma Chi has 72 brothers as of right now, a very healthy number. They also have 1442 logged service hours which seems very high but these guys are fairly adamant when it comes to certain events so that wouldn’t surprise me. Having a house on campus is definitely a plus for them. I don’t have anything bad to say. They social with a bunch of different sororities and have a fairly strict rush process which is good.
o Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT)
• ZBT is an underrated fraternity. Haven’t figured out why. They had won Fraternity of the year two years in a row. They also placed 2nd in both Greek Week and Philanthropy Week. Placing in both weeks is an accomplishment. Their current number is at 53 members which is healthy. Their guys rep their letters constantly. Some find it annoying but repping letters shows pride which these guys definitely have.

• Top-Middle
o Phi Kappa Psi (Phi Psi)
• I debated putting this group this high on the list however I see no reason as to why they shouldn’t be there. In their second year on campus and only first year In competitions, the placed 1st for Philanthropy Week and 3rd for Greek week. They have 200 service hours which isn’t the best but they are a small group. They are only 30 guys and their socials haven’t been the best but word was this was their first semester for socials. If this group continues and pulls a good rush class in the fall, they are on the right track.

• Middle
o Sigma Pi Epsilon (Sig Ep)
• This fraternity was the hardest to rank. Their intentions are good but they keep going off the path. With 77 guys, having 200 service hours isn’t amazing but it could be worse as you’ll see in some other fraternities. These guys have an amazing brotherhood bond, there is no question there. They also throw great socials and are a lot of fun. However, their attitude and treatment towards anyone not in the fraternity has a lot to be desired. If they can change that they would deserve to be at the top.
o Lambda Chi Alpha (Lambda)
• With 75 guys, they have the numbers, no doubt. They party hard and often. If you wanted ranking based of off parties/socials, these guys would be at the top. Other than that, there isn’t much more good or bad about them that I’ve heard or know of which is why I have them in the middle tier.
o Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI)
• After their last rush class bumping them up to 55 guys, they are at a healthy number again. In a few years, these guys will be back towards the top. Their past few pledge classes have been a lot more motivated than the past ones. This is going to help them excel in the coming years. The first evidence of that was them placing 3rd in Greek Week with their pairing. The older guys have an attitude of not caring. Its not bad, its not hurting them but its also not helping.

Middle (CONT)
o Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE)
• These guys used to be all that on campus but they have fallen off the grid recently. They have 80 guys with 1095 service hours which is impressive. They hold true on numbers and from what I hear brotherhood too. They also do participate on campus a fair amount. Ranking them top would be too much but they are by no means a bad fraternity like the stigma has them as.
o Pi Kappa Alpha (PIKE)
• People either love or hate these guys. They have a bad stigma attached to them also but I am not ranking based off of past events. I don’t know the exact number but PIKE has a good sized chapter. The reason I have them in the middle is because they placed 3rd in Philanthropy week, which should count for something because it is a staple of Greek life.

• Bottom
o Theta Chi
• With 46 members doing 250 service hours, they aren’t horrible in this aspect. I think they will improve although it’s going to take a while. They took the initiative to hold their first annual event for their national charity this past year. This is another group where there’s nothing good or bad for them.
o Delta Chi
• With 45 members they are on the smaller side when it comes to fraternities on campus but they have made very noticeable strides recently to improve themselves. They have put a lot of work into reorganizing the chapter financially and leadership wise. I see potential in this chapter.
o Alpha Epsilon Pi
• With 21 guys, they are the smallest on campus. The guys don’t interact with anyone, they don’t win competitions and you never really hear about them. From research, they are the top on other campuses but here; they lack many things that are looked for in a fraternity.
o Kappa Sigma
• They have 58 members with 50 logged service hours. Doing the math that’s not so great. They don’t do too much on campus and are just there. The members are nice from my experience with them. Ranked bottom not because of what they do but rather what they don’t do. A fraternity like this has potential if they just become more active.

I based my rankings and evaluations off of everything. Especially the things that really matter for a fraternity. Philanthropy, Chivalry, Campus Involvement, brotherhood, partly socials because that is an important aspect when it comes to sorority interaction. I looked at a wide range of things. Not just partying and looks like most base the rankings off of. If you cant respect the values a fraternity is based off of, shame on you. Theres no fraternity on this campus that has a value of who can throw the best party,.

This clearly wasn't written by a lambda or somebody boning someone in lambda, so it looks completely different than anything I've seen lately.
