frats without houses?
by: Greek?How come some fraternities do not have houses on campus? I known SAE used to be in the IEP house and the office of admissions used to be Theta Chi's house. Phi Psi is leasing their house to ZTA and TKE is leasing to Alpha Phi. Why do these frats and ones like Delta Chi and Kappa Sigma not have houses?

As for Phi Psi and TKE leasing to ZTA and Aphi. Both of these frats are very new to campus after recolonization. At one time, these frats had chapters here and lived in those houses, but after they were kicked off, they still owned the property and now lease it to these sororities. In the meantime, these frats have come back. It's not like they were just like hey we're gonna move out of our house and give it to you guys!
We'll see what happens in regard to ZTA and Aphi still living here after the leases run out. Not sure if the frats will want to renew the lease or move into the houses themselves. At URI it seems frats thrive more off campus, anyway.

I don't know if any single fraternity can fill their house anymore without at least 1 boarder living there. Logistically, this is a nightmare, especially when it comes to accountability. This is a factor when it comes to those groups that are leasing their houses out, currently.
