bad breakup

So I was in a house last year but never initiated fall or spring. I had a crazy boyfriend that pretty much wouldn't let me hang out with the girls so I never connected with anyone and eventually dropped at his suggestion but him and I broke up and I really want to give sorority life another try. I tried reaching out to some of the girls last year but they seem DONE with me. Should I still consider rerushing in the spring do I have good chances if getting a bid or did I ruin my reputation in Greek life? And when asked why I dropped should I be honest or just say I never really connected.
