is it worth it rushing spring as a soph

by: Guest

I never ended rushing because I was so scared of messing up my grades freshman year. I feel like I missed out on an opportunity because of it. Is it worth rushing spring as a soph/is it a lot harder to get a bid doing it. If I decide I want to what’s the best way to hear about events in the spring. (Ik a lot of top sororitys don’t do spring rush but I’m more interested in just meeting new people I vibe with n stuff)

If you’re looking to get into a “top sorority” you’re not going to as a junior in the fall. Vibe with the people you get a long with and accept that maybe you won’t end up in a “top” sorority but whatever happens is meant to be.

I joined in the spring, it was easy to talk to girls and see where I felt comfortable. Now I’ve done formal as a sister and I still think spring recruitment is better. Don’t worry about tiers, just find people you vibe with.

Only houses below total can do spring recruitment. It would be impossible for every house to do it.

Idk who’s doing rush but it’s very possible for every house to do it. Girls can drop from now until spring which places the house below quota. My freshmen year all but one house did spring rush.

You are misinformed. There is no quota in spring. Chapter total is recalculated and anyone below total can recruit up to total.

Panhel is proposing a rule change to allow all houses to take a minimum of ten regardless of chapter total. The very reason for spring recruitment is to allow chapters who aren’t at total, to grab a few more girls. Now the biggest houses are proposing thus rule change that only benefits themselves and hurts the smaller houses. It’s self-serving and against the Panhellenic book of rules. All houses should vote no, but they won’t because it benefits them.
