I went through rush but ended up dropping because I got really sick, but now I'm wondering what informal rush is like and if it's worth it/which houses will take place

Informal Rush is easy to get into pretty much any house you want. I'm not sure which ones are doing it right now but you can find out through university Greek life website I think or by contacting the recruitment chairs

if you know any friends that joined a sorority, ask them if their house is doing COB(continuous open bidding)
