@REAL RANK i think the only real ranks you gave were tri delt and aephi

@question you can still get a bid to a house, not sure if it would be a good one though. sororities are looking for girls that would be involved and you would only have 2 years left if you were a junior.

you wont like to hear this, but this is what is really going on:
AEPhi: barely a sorority, no socials, no one associates with them. but im sure they are very nice girls.
DZ: always at the bottom and frankly, quite strange
AZD: almost at DZ's level but not quite. getting better, but will still be a bottom house for at least 5 years. the girls seem to be a little manlier and not too pretty
AXO: pledge class is a joke. they have the most beautiful house ever, but thats what they have going for them. they seem to get along with each other quite nicely
ZTA: last i heard they were getting kicked off? low GPA and too many drinking tickets. also they are on social probation which really isnt fun. they can be pretty though
ADPi: probably in the middle somewhere. kind of out of perspective. but they are really sweet girls and down to earth. they just are under the radar. i heard there pledge class was good?

Pi Phi: they are hot crazy girls. not only are they an ideal sorority to be in, but they are actually very nice to lower tier sororities. although i hear frats dont normally have socials with them because they can be forgotten about
Chi O: rep is smart, beautiful blondes. which is very true. top GPA almost every year. but the problem with them is that they are no fun. they try to keep this classy image.
G Phi: people have said they look like prostitutes, but actually they are very pretty. bad GPA, but tons of fun. def one of the top houses at iowa.

There you have it. there are goods and bads to each sorority but you just have to find the one right for you!

do UIowa sororities have an upperclassmen quota?

no not usually. but most houses take at least one sophomore for their pledge class. its harder to get a bid as a junior and i wouldnt even try as a senior. they usually look for freshman because they want someone all four years.

you seem like you don't know what you're talking about and go based off what you've heard. here's what i've seen

Chi Omega is generally considered the top house. Always make top grades, all very beautiful women, and very involved in the community. Very exclusive though, and only really associate themselves with other premier greek houses and are rarely seen partying.
Kappa Alpha Theta fills in much of the same niche as Chi Omega, only they're more willing to social with lower tier frats and are a lot more down to Earth.
Kappa Kappa Gamma is also very exclusive, but unlike Chi O, they're not very respected. Very pretty girls, but also kinda sleazy. Very rich though.
Alpha Phi all round nice girls. The kind of girls you'd bring home for Thanksgiving to meet your parents. I have never heard a bad thing about Alpha Phi.

Gamma Phi Beta is probably considered top tier by a lot of other people just because they're so pretty, but outside of all being really hot I'm not sure they do much to merit that good of a placement. I guess they're decently involved, and they don't have the worst grades but they just aren't quite on the same level as Chi O/Aphi/Theta/Kappa
Pi Beta Phi parties hard. I've seen these girls go absolutely nuts at parties. Very fun to party with and very approachable, grounded women. They only seem to social with four or five frats though.
Tri Delta gets a bad rap nationally for sleeping around, but honestly there are questionable girls in every sorority and all of the Tri Deltas I've met are very genuine caring individuals, and they've raised millions for cancer research.
Delta Gamma is known for being very competitive in Greek events and very cute girls, especially their new members. Very respectable, but their house is pretty far from campus. Some of my closest friends at Iowa are in DG

Alpha Chi Omega's old house was destroyed by a tornado a few years back, and their alums paid for a new multi million dollar mansion. It's very impressive and easily the nicest Greek house at Iowa. The girls are a pretty diverse group of students though, and don't very easily fit into a nutshell. Some are very outgoing and social, others are more reclusive. Most are very pretty, others not so much.
Zeta Tau Alpha got into some deep water with their nationals last fall after some girls were caught with weed in the sorority house. They went under membership review and lost about half their chapter. They've been on social probation since, but before that were known for partying harder than any other sorority, except for maybe Pi Phi.
Alpha Delta Pi kind of skates by unnoticed a lot, and their house is kind of dumpy. There were a few of them in a couple of my discussion classes this past year, and they were all very smart and engaged. They only social with the same two or three frats thoug

Recruitment has definitely picked up steam over the last few years, but don't let that scare you away! All of the houses are great and you will definitely find one you belong in. Go Greek!
