there's a bid day celebration and you start getting to know the chapter and doing stuff with them. Some chapters do initiation towards the middle to end of first semester, others wait until after first semester for initiation. You'll find everything out depending on where you end up within a couple of weeks

Then... Your life is forever changed! You'll meet the girls, get to know people, and probably make some new best friends. Initiation happens later, but it is nothing scary, it just officially welcomes you into whatever chapter you end up choosing. Sorority life is as big, or as little of a commitment as you want it to, and definitely doesn't fit all the stereotypes that movies portray. GOOD LUCK and have fun!
