does being a legacy matter?

For sorority recruitment, does being a legacy help you in the houses? And does being a legacy to one house hurt you in another house?

Legacy statuses are different for every house, some dont even have a policy for it

OMG u like cannot get into any other house if you’re a legacy for one house. Like it’s so strict and you’ll never get a bid!

each chapter has certain protocols for legacies. some are required to continue asking them back and others are not. being a legacy in one house most definitely does not affect the decisions of other houses. I know a fair amount of legacies that accepted bids to other chapters. it really just depends on who you're vibing with.

I would definitely mention to the chapter you are a legacy for that you are a legacy. It will definitely help a lot, but you won’t be guaranteed a bid. I am a legacy but did not go with the chapter I’m a legacy for
