5th generation legacy

hi! if i join tri delt this year i will be a fifth generation legacy at iowa. i'm not partial to joining any house right now. will other houses know I'm a legacy and not ask me back bc they think i'm going to automatically want to join tri delt? i want to make the choice only own and not have my sorority experience dictated by my grandma

They will know, but this doesnt mean you'll get into Tri Delt or not into other houses. Tri Delt will probs ask you back because you are a legacy but they dont ask back just anyone so dont think they are going to ask you every time.

Yes, other chapters may know. As mentioned in the comment above, legacy status does not guarantee membership into Tri Delt. What legacy means is that you are asked back to a certain amount of rounds during recruitment. If Tri Delt sees you as a positive addition to their chapter you can advance further in the rounds of recruitment. if they don't see you as a good fit, you can be dropped from their list of girls asked back.

I wouldn't mention to other sorority houses that you're a legacy. They might assume you're biased and cut you to focus on other girls.
