do house rankings matter?
by: 1264829I know people on here don’t always take the rankings seriously, and say find a house you’re happy in and feel at home in .. but I’m in a bottom house right now and I’m miserable. I absolutely hate it and am dropping at the end of this semester. I feel like my whole sorority experience would have been 100 X better if I were not in a bottom house. I wish I wouldn’t spent more time at the beginning of the year making friends on my floor and joining other organizations rather than focusing on rushing.

People like to act like ranks are stupid and don't matter, but then why are posts on this site getting so many views? Obviously lots of people are coming on here and checking periodically. Lots of people who don't make it into a top house are very disappointed and try to make the best of the experience by pretending to be absolutely obsessed with their painfully average house. All middle tier houses act like they are "on the rise" and try desperately to believe that they'll be a top house in the coming years (never happens). Girls in bottom tiers don't have much to be obsessed about / look forward to though and even if they really try it's hard to be happy when everyone knows you got one of the worst options. So yes - I can say you'll only be genuinely happy if you're in a top house or literally care zero amount about what other people think of you.
