I left this place but these fraternities want all their rushes to fit their “mold” based on looks and personalities. It’s disgusting and it shows. At least my school now is huge and anyone can rush without having to fit in and not have the brothers act like little sorority girls when they talk to you. It’s sad.

Okay so quinnipiac is not a school you go to for greek life, but the hate below seems like too much. It is still something worth doing. Dues are not that expensive because there are no chapter houses or anything. It is not "paying for friends", it is just a great way to meet people. If your not in a frat, then likely the only partying you can do is bars clubs which good, but you miss out on wed, fri, and dartys. You do not need to be in a sorority, but if your in one you have a sisterhood, social/events, and you meet so many more people. Everyone I meet and am closest to is in greek life, and its not because they are in greek life, but many people who I have great times with are in it. That being said, this school isn't anything crazy and none of the parties are great or anything, but if you want the best college experience then you should rush.

like flushing money down the drain. if you’re trying to pay for friends this isn’t even the best way. all the srats are made up of smaller cliques and the frats are cringey try hards. they have too many chapters to be competitive and it’s not popular enough for most chapters to fill. for example: Tri Delt will give any girl a bid and still not make quota. go somewhere else if you want to be Greek because this school is Greek only in name.

it could be different for sororities but for fraternities, going greek is a joke. for the top few it’s 100% about connections not about how competitive or fitting a potential member you are and for the bottom half legit EVERYONE is let in. philanthropy is nonexistent since nobody cares about charity here and mixers aren’t real ragers. save your dues money to pay for alc and cover at the clubs instead of being elitist

As someone who disaffiliated I'd like to second some parts of the critical reviews and no it's not "ruining it" for those who want real perspectives of the QU greek family. Tbh more people are athletes than they are greek so why are we acting like it's huge at this school? Competition doesn't exist beyond how attractive you are so it's not as picky as real greek schools either. And involvement is clearly not a priority for a majority of them. Yeah dues are lower compared to big greek schools or anywhere that THEY ACTUALLY HAVE HOUSING and actually throw big fun themed parties but if you compare to smaller schools where you're not factoring in those expenses it's pricier than many small chapters and borderline unaffordable for 4 years unless you're rich. Also there's waaay more girls than guys which can make the girls a little crazy. The people that like to over glorify greek life are those in the few top sororities because it consumes their whole identity. They WILL ignore you if you disaffiliate.

it is very competitive when it comes to girls wanting the certain girls they want and the top 3 are fighting over them. don’t ruin greek life for people who want to be in it and love it . dues are more expensive at other schools so u clearly know nothing. also our panhell sucks here so we have to go around it rather other schools they don’t really have a stuck up one plus greek life has changed with all the people dying

It is competetive at times when it comes to rush. More so with girls. When it comes to Frat rush its all anout who you know and how your first impression goes.

pretty bad greek life. no frat houses on campus. they barely throw parties on weekends/weeknights. the parties are typically lame. the "exclusive" socials are boring. they need to step up their game.
