top tiers and "bad pcs"

by: pnms

If top houses always get the "best girls" according to this site, how come sometimes on here people will say a top tier house had a "bad PC." is it because the PC maximized their options but the top house had girls on their pref list that had other houses on their pref list? Like how people say Pi Phi had a bad PC that just graduated and DG had a bad PC too.. is it because girls don't pref them and they were too selective with making cuts? I guess I'm just confused how this can happen or how the cut process works

Not sure I completely get your question...but basically the sororities makes their lists and you make yours..then it gets matched to the bid list of the chapter you listed first.. if they match then it is a match and you are given a bid. If there is not a match they look at the bid list of the next chapter on your list to see if there is a match and so on down the list until you are matched or dropped. Then you go to pref and list those houses the order you like them. Those houses also rank you. Then you get matched up.

So in the case of a top tier getting a bad pledge class..it could be a lot of things, even just bad recruiting although that's usually not it. You mentioned PiPhi's PC and that was the year DG got their best PC so I'm sure there was a lot of cross prefing that year

I think they also cut too many people that year, but who knows.

You have no idea what you are talking about. You don't just "cut too many people". You are REQUIRED to cut so many PNMs each round based on RFM. Each chapter is different based on the prior 3 years return rates. Stop guessing at answers to confuse people.
