question about living in sorority houses
by: pnmI'm a PNM and was wondering about living in the sorority house to whatever sorority I (hopefully) get a bid from. Is it worth it to live in the house? Do most girls like living in the house or do they prefer to live in a house with friends?

living in the house is a different experience. by senior year i think you'll be ready to move into a house with a group of your close girlfriends though (which will most likely be your sisters anyway.) i know a few sororities have rented large off campus houses where a bunch of their seniors would live, and then once they graduated a new group of seniors would take over, and so on and so forth. it's definitely a more laid back environment out of your sorority house though. (example: no rules.)

While living in the sorority house does come with rules, I think it's an opportunity that you shouldn't pass up. I'm a sophomore living in my sorority house this year and am really happy that I did. Not that living out causes you to be excluded from things, but living in the house helps you become close with your sisters really quickly. I often find that a lot of my friends that don't live in the sorority house regret it.

Depends on the house you join. Some of the houses here aren't that great..and I'm not talking about the girls I'm talking about the inside of the houses. Not the most important thing when finding the right fit for you...but you're going to have different living conditions certain outdated houses than maybe Pi Phi or Theta or DG.
