recruitment

Is it true that Pi Phi is having a contest before recruitment starts "who can lose the most weight over break" so they can be the "skinniest" to impress all those PMN's ?
Because every pi phi I see they're emaciated (for you dumb pi phis it means skin and bones).

I don't think it is a joke because I have a friend that pledged pi phi last year and is now at least 20 lbs lighter. She lives in and I can only imagine the constant competition and feeling of fitting in that she experienced. I feel sorry for her that she couldn't feel comfortable to just be herself. Instead I know her and I know she buckled under the peer pressure to fit in with the skinny member. So PNMs think about what's more important a healthy body image or future therapy for body image problems. There are so many other great houses.

Everybody love everybody. Eating disorders are not a joking matter, that being said, I strongly doubt a sorority or any group over 150 plus people would be able to have a contest like this and condone it. The women in sororities here at OSU are some of the smartest in the university, this can be seen through their GPA's being outstandingly strong. I doubt that decisions like these occur to the group as a whole and may have sparked from a small faction or something as simple as a rumor. Enjoy rush and don't worry about the ignorant comments on a social media website.
