It's called blacklisting, and a girl can be "blacklisted" if she does, says, or presents herself to sororities in a way that shows that she has very bad character or would be an all around risk to the chapter. PNMs shouldn't worry about silly things like making out with a guy at block once, but rather things that would really point her out as a big, sloppy no no. Speaking negatively about current actives or certain chapters can also cause a pnm to be blacklisted. Unfortunately, poor high school reputations can carry over also. At the end of the day, most PNMs go into rush fairly anonymous, and for those that made their name known, they just need to make sure it was for good reasons only.

There are several things you can do to be blacklisted. The first and most important offense is being rude to other chapters before and during recruitment. We're all friends and you act like we don't talk/live with people in other sororities. You could go walk into xyz sorority and not talk to thme girl and because you want to be in abc sorority but you don't know that the girl you talked to might be lifelong best friends with the incoming president of abc sorority. And you sure as hell that the abc sorority will cut you, as well as the others. Another way to get blacklisted is to post really inappropriate stuff on your social media. There was a girl last year who repeatedly talked about smoking weed because recruitment was so hard. Every cut her for that. There may be other things, but things not as severe that might get you blacklisted from one sorority for one reason or another, like maybe you're flirting with a girls ex or a girl has hated you since she first met you, etc.
