which sororities are legacies most important?
by: legacyi'm a legacy at two here and i was wondering if some regard legacies more highly than others and which they are

actually a lot of the top houses, which ends up being a bad thing. many times girls will get a bid and then find they really don't fit in with the rest of the house. if you love the two houses where you're a legacy, then go for it...but go in with an open mind no matter what house!

Something also for legacies to think about. Most sororities require their chapter to invite legacies back to at least the second round, whether the members like you or not. I saw several girls get so excited about being invited back to only one top/mid tier house where they were a legacy and the rest lower tier chapters, only to be cut by their legacy house for the next round.
Even if you are a legacy, keep a very open mind. Unless you are invited back to Pref by your legacy house, they might only be inviting you as a courtesy.

they are required to bring the legacy back to the second round as a courtesy. they are allowed to drop them any time after that until pref. if a legacy goes to their pref they have to be on their first bid list. this is how my sorority does it and a lot of my friends' sororities. there are just too many legacies rushing these days and it would literally be impossible to take them. everyones saying omg a double legacy got cut. but that was probably 15-20 girls, not all of them can get bids. overall, it doesnt really help too too much

There is only one sorority on campus that I've heard that has to bring you back. AOPi has to bring back their legacies every round and extend them a bid. The only way you'd not get a bid/dropped from them is if you did something crazy like slap a member. And if I remember correctly, tri delt doesn't have to bring back their legacies, but if you make it to pref round you're guaranteed a bid. That's what my recruitment guide told me last year

Does not care about their legacies at all - I knew a double legacy who was dropped.
