question about rushing

by: ...

I found this web page, which is great and I hope you all can help. So I guess I'm in a weird place. I'm a sophomore and I transferred from a local Columbus college this year. I didn't rush last semester because of some personal reasons, even though I intended to. Now here's what's kinda weird - I'm going to be in college for 4 more years (meaning I'm technically a freshman/class of 2019) because I'm an engineer and credit transferring and stuff. With all that in mind, even though I'm a freshman in terms of my degree stuff, is it too late for me to rush and be given a good shot at getting a bid?
When I went to the fair earlier this semester I really liked, and planned on Rushing places like Pike, Fiji, and maybe SAE because I liked what they had to say. That's probably unimportant info, but maybe it'll change what happens. Thanks

You'll be fine. Sophomores often get bids in the spring even if they are only going to school for 4 years.

sae, fiji, and pike give out bids to anyone who rushes. they arent selective. So don't worry.

Thank you for your comments. I didn't know those frats were not selective, but I guess that's better for me lol

Can't speak for pike and Fiji, but SAE is selective (I'm in it). If you're a cool dude though you'll be fine no worries although being a sophomore generally can be a slight disadvantage

Also an SAE here. While we used to be known as non-selective, we have risen to the top tier recently. If you're not an absolute stud you may not make the cut. It's nothing personal, we are just an elite set of men.

Lol I'm not concerned about selectivity. It could be Harvard hard or as exclusive as Oprah's book club. As long as I'll get a decent look considering my circumstances I'll probably rush. If not or if I don't get a bid that's chill too.

solid sae trolling above.

they are middle tier, i'd say better than fiji. about the same as pike.
they aren't selective at all, don't listen to the SAE impersonator-trolls above. haha.

Middle tier fraternities are not very selective, but not necessarily everybody will get a bid. If you don't suck you'll be fine, even as a sophomore

Just Check them out yourself and if you get along well with the guys you will get a bid. From your post I would recommend Pike, Fiji, ATO and phi delt. All solid lower-middle tiers that aren't too selective but still have fun

Since when does every single person in the fraternity have to be the exact same? Not all girls like the kind of guys in those fraternities. Diversity is actually a good thing as long as they party hard...
