during recruitment I had girls that asked my major, and if one of my parents were that, and when I said no they'd ask what they did to see if it was a high salary job.
this isnt the case for all houses, but there are a few who it really matters to, some who are genuinely carrying on conversation, and others who just wanted to insure that I could afford it.

It's "expensive" but when you factor in how much money you're paying in tuition/rent while you're a student it's kind of a drop in the bucket. Definitely worth it to have the best college experience as possible.

I agree. I feel like it pretty much evens out. I have friends who aren't in greek life and honestly, I feel like I only pay a little bit more per quarter than they do. With everything you get to do in Greek Life, it's not that much in the long run. Plus with a lot of the social events you are attending (not just your own formals...but frat formals, blocks, pre games, etc) all of this, along with food and alcohol) is paid for. plus the meals you get in your house.... i am sure it is more expensive than not being in greek life but not when you factor in what you're getting in return
