regional campus
by: PNMSo I'm currently at a regional campus and I was wondering if I'm better off rushing as a sophomore next year once I'm at Columbus or if I should take a chance now and rush this winter. I know there's a negative stigma to branch campuses and don't want to be judged when I say I'm not at main. If you guys could help me out, that would be so helpful!

Hey there!
I would definitely say try to rush if you want to. You can go through and rush and not tell them that your a regional campus student if you don't want to. They get your gpa and name and that's basically it. The rest is up to you on what info you share or info that they can find on social media.
I didn't know my freshman year that regional students could rush, otherwise I would have. I would definitely say to rush, especially if you're coming to main in the fall. As a regional campus transfer I found that I really didn't know anyone here and I really wish I would have come in with more friends/the true freshman experience where no on knows anyone. It was really hard to meet people since they already had their friend groups.
Also, my sorority bff rushed when she was at the Newark campus and she said it made the transition so much easier because she had friends here waiting for her.
Honestly there are tons of sororities that have regional campus girls in the sorority. If you were to come along and talk to me during recruitment and asked when I rushed I would tell you I rushed as a sophomore because I didn't know that regional kids could rush. Also, I would tell you that I elected to go to a regional campus my first year to make the transition into college easier for me. I wouldn't judge you.
Honestly it's all up to you, though I wish I would have known sooner.
