freshman get ready
by: UpperclassmanI'm really sick of seeing some of the freshman girls rushing say their interested in only joining a top house. Just a little reminder that the top houses are very different personality wise and just because a girl is in one top chapter doesn't mean she's fit in in another. Also, our "mid" and "bottom" chapters all have great, smart, kind, and beautiful girls that you should not overlook! Please go into recruitment with a truly open mind, and DO NOT tell people, especially girls you may know in sororities, that you are only interested in a top chapter for superficial reasons. Most girls do not pref 3 top houses if they even pref 1, and there are so many beautiful and smart girls in going through that you need to keep an open mind over more than 3 or 4 houses

Freshmen, please beware that you will not be "blown away" by any girls in top houses. People on here make it seem like its impossible to get a bid to a top house. You'll find all of them just have mostly average looking girls. I walked in and expected to see 200 barbies staring at me when I went through recruitment last year. Not the case. This is OSU, not Arizona. So if you really want top tier, go for it. You'll probably get called back even if girls on here want you to think we are super selective.

This is so true. I ended up joining an upper bottom chapter and I was so confused during recruitment because in my mind I had all the attributes of a "top" girl. I was a cheerleading captain, on homecoming court, stuco officer, graduated top 10%, doing well in a rigorous major, and I always thought I was at least decent looking. During pref though, I preffed one top one mid and one bottom and ranked them in that order. You are NEVER too good for a chapter!!
Ps I love where I'm at now
