Hello! I was wondering if Rifs are helpful during the recruitment process. How many would be a good amount to have?

Depends on the chapter and it can help you at times. The only time it can hurt you is if you made a bad impression on the alumni that is writing it. Only ask alumni you know not some random alum that you know was a member of XYZ chapter.

You only need one rec per chapter -- don't be the PNMs that is known as the only one who had 10 alums send recs on her.

No matter what anyone tells you, chapters love getting recs and they put PNMs at an advantage particularly when they don't know members in a house. We like to get our recs before Thanksgiving and wrap up the review by Christmas. Anything we get in January really is of no use to us.

Get them if you can. PHA will tell you that you don't need them but don't listen to them. They help. Only one per house needed.

Recs definitely make things easier when we need to know more about you than we do. Sometimes we end up cutting someone after the first round just because we know nothing about you.

Dont just get them....get them IN early. So many girls Recs were submitted during Christmas and we had already completed our initial review before then. My advise is to get them in during November at the latest.
