Can I get an honest, unbiased description of the following fraternities:
TKE
Phi Psi
Delta Tau Delta
SAE
Kappa Sig
Sigma Chi
I'm thinking of rushing and these are regarded as the better fraternities from what I can gather, but everywhere I look I see something different. "Phi Psi is terrible, on the decline" in one thread and then "Phi Psi is the undisputed top house, best social calendar, etc." in another
I know it's for me to see for myself during rush in the spring but I don't wanna waste my time somewhere when I could be spending it getting to know guys in another house better

How about you go and talk to them, get to know them, and don't ask other people for their opinion of them? You have a whole semester to talk to people and get to know them. It's not like you're rushing in the fall and have 1 week to meet them. Relax, buddy, and enjoy the ride.

In order of social prestige
1. Phi Psi
2. Sig Chi
3. TKE
4. Kappa Sig
5. Delt
6. SAE
Broad Sweeping Generalizations:
1. Phi Psi = "the rich kids"
2. Sig Chi = "Cincinnati private school kids"
3. TKE = "Rowdy"
4. Kappa Sig "Up and coming/try hards"
5. Delt = don't really know delt's stereotype
6. SAE = "the nice guys"

Phi Psi- your classic fraternity that you would see in a movie
Sig Chi- St. X in college basically
TKE- love to party and a lot of people see them as creepy but still cool
Kappa Sig- Lowest of the top tier but they are top tier but just barely and really try way to hard to be "FRAT"
Delt- seen as the best mid tier frat and are the good guys of Greek life (friend zoned)
Pike- solid mid tier frat and very similar to delt but seen more as partiers and less as good guys
SAE- kappa sig and delts little brother because they are the nice guys that just try to hard to be "FRAT"
Phi Delt- Seen as the bottom of the middle tier but solid group of guys and they really make a nice mid tier but nobody really knows them
Sig Ep- the nerds of Greek life and nobody likes them because they only care about there GPA and really considered bottom tier but hey at least they get a tier

Let's be honest, no one past Kappa Sig has cut more then 10 guys total in the past 5 years. All the "middle tier frats", while good and have solid guys, are walk-ons for some weirdos. The ones that are lower or irrelevant... God have mercy.
