question on gpa?

Does having a higher GPA help you out when it comes to rushing? Or do fraternities and sororities think nothing of it.

sororitys care. Most only have a certain requirement while others like theta and chi o take it into real conaideration. Fraternities if you make the requirements to rush they never care after that

Is the requirement low, like a 2.5+?

sororitys will post their minimum GPA as set by their nationals but this might not be their real minimum. For example, maybe their national allows 2.6 but the unsaid rule in a house is not taking anyone less than a 3.0. Using the same example, another chapter might take you down to a 2.6 only if you are the "whole package" and they really want you.
Anything below a 3.0 is considered a grade risk by most chapters. It's best to go into recruitment above a 3.5. You don't want to be below the Chapter Average GPA because they don't want you to pull them down. Don't think you are safe with anything below a 3.3.

All the good frats don't care. If you're cool and have bad grades... they will let you pledge and just not register your name to ifc/nationals (called ghosting). Then when your grades are high enough, they will register you as brother
