It isn't competitive in the sense of large southern universities. However, some chapters are harder to get into than others if you don't have what they are looking for (i.e. grades, looks, personality, style, involvement). Anyone can get a bid IF you keep your options open and have a GPA higher than the chapter's minimum, which is set by their national headquarters. Go back to every chapter where you get an invite and be polite.

Rush at osu isn't nearly as cut throat as schools in the south like said above, however that's not to say it isn't competitive. Unfortunately not everyone is going to end up in the house of their dreams but if you maximize your options you will get a bid somewhere. However, recruitment is getting more and more competitive and with the new housing rule/kappa being kicked off this may be the hardest year yet.
