informal
by: ???I was just wondering more about informal rush for sororities. Like do you go through all the house, is it like the formal process where you just talk to girls for 15 min, what houses are going to do informal this fall, or when more info is gonna be available? Thanks!

Pha will set total for how many members each chapter much have in the fall. Any chapter that is below total will participate in informal (generally due to a large senior class, girls graduating early, or having girls disaffiliate). Last year it was 4 chapters, the year before it was 5-6? The number of spots can vary, anywhere from 2-3 up to 20.
Each chapter does it differently, some houses will have an event at their house (an ice cream social, cookie decorating, whatever), some houses will do house tours and some houses will do informal Rush dates with a few members and a PNM. It definitely helps to know someone in the chapter, and some houses will only take girls that already know someone in the chapter, or they will fill the spots with transfers from other schools, it really just depends
