thank you for the honesty today.
how important were recommendation letters in this informal process.
I know people will say you don't have to have them. just because you have them doesn't mean you will get a bid...but if you are a pretty girl that is nice but has average grades would it have been necessary?

It depends on which sorority at OSU. I was in a top tier house and recs were very valuable during BOTH informal and formal. They also were ranked of importance based on who wrote the letter. For instance, if the writer was an alumni from OSU vs. another chapter at a different school.

the importance of recommendations or legacy status depends on the chapter and is generally based on each National organization's individual policy. You can check the National Org's website for information on each individual chapter. Some chapters love them, some barely look at them.

I couldn't find any new information on greek chat. It was kind of a mess on there. It would be nice if an e-mail could go out to everyone just letting everyone know what was going on. The chapters sent them to us with reminders of their events, so how hard would it be for PHA to do that too?
#2048by: fall bidding
I heard that the bidding is being done by a ranked "flex list", similar to the ranked bid lists each house makes after preference round, meaning PHA should keep moving down each chapter's list of girls until they've either reached total or there are no more girls left on the list to offer bids to (either because those girls decline or accept a bid to a different house). If 2 rounds didnt cover it, i imagine girls might get calls tomorrow too, but I hope not --I'm ready to see some results and i'm sure the PNMs/chapter's are too!
