That's pretty messed up. Legacies are at least supposed to be invited back for the second round.

There are no guarantees. BTW...why would you want to be asked back to a house just because you are a legacy, when you will be dropped the next round?

This isn't your mom's recruitment. Move on, as hard as it is, and find the true right house for you. Best of luck!

Also, while we won't know why it happened, grades could have been involved.

Nothing you can do now. Look at chapters not only where you like the girls but they like you.

I think one of the big issues is that girls who are legacies mistakenly assume and expect to to get a bid from their legacy sorority, and that is just not the reality these days. So they are hurt and angry, so are their moms, when they really would be happier in another sorority to begin with. In an odd way, consider it a blessing. It frees you up to find the sorority where the girls want and like you.

Chapters are only able to invite back "X" many girls to the next round based on their previous return rates. Chapters that routinely have a very high return rate, i.e. Kappa, are only permitted to invite back about 1/2 of the girls that went through House Tours. Inviting back a legacy that they have no intention to offer a bid isn't fair to the house, the legacy or the other PNMs.

I hope you continue with recruitment and look at houses who are serious about giving you a bid.
