rising lower fraternities

by: Interested PNM

I'm interested in rushing a lower tier fraternity where I have a chance to create growth and achieve leadership while still partying sometimes and keeping my grades up. Any suggestions?

Id say SAE is too big to expect leadership

sae is too big and doesnt need it
pike not lower tier, but smaller and could maybe use it

ato could really use some good leadership, theyre a mess and are falling terribly fast
phidelt needs involved people

fiji doesnt need it, they have tons of leadership

chi phi and delta sig both need good leaders to keep them on the upswing, so Id look at chi phi, delta sig, ato, phidelt

Id avoid ato for sure and pike if you really want a lower teir. Fiji has many involved members so it will be harder to attain leadership.

My top choices for you would be phidelt, chi phi, and I would even add the pi kapps in there as well because they're still pretty young here.

If you are looking for a fraternity with a solid base but just needs a few more years to get things up and going delta sig, chi phi, and pi kappa phi are pretty good. All of them are relatively new to campus (last 5 years) and you'd have the chance to make an impact as they grow

Beta is just recolonizing and has a good network of alums. You would be in a good position if you want to get into leadership. Plus, they have a great house and are pouring money into updates.

Sigma pi is perfect. They're last 2 presidents were sophomores and most of their ec i think are sophomores. a lot of smart guys too

Ato and sig pi won't be good if you're looking for "rising small"

For one ato is pretty big. But they're moving out of their house and will likely take a hit. Sigma pi is losing their house (to ato) and won't have an actual house next year, so again p, they will fall.

Pi kapp made some pretty big strides last year and is still small.

Chi phi just got their charter, so they could make big strides HOWEVER a lot of fraternities don't do well in the couple years following a charter (kind of a what are we working for anymore attitude can easily take over.

Delta sig I believe has a house now, and are small so I'd guess they'd be moving up.

Delta chi has a decent house and is really young right now

And beta is recolonizing, so obviously the biggest opportunity for growth

Just to comment on Sigma Pi losing their house, they are grabbing a house on 15th next year, although it's slightly smaller, but I wouldn't necessarily count them out for it, especially since the location is much better

Delta Sig and Chi Phi are probably the two relevant fraternities on campus that aren't too small, have a good base, and really have a lot of upward momentum.
