If Im a legacy does it make a huge difference? my mom was a kappa and I would love to be in their house, will this help me?

If they like you, being a legacy will help. If they don't like you, you will be invited back to the 2nd round out of courtesy to your mother but then cut. In other words, legacies are no longer a big deal.
