prefs?
by: Fall RusheeI went through recruitment last spring and now realize how odd my prefs were, what were everyone else's? You don't have to write your own house in the three if you don't want, but I'm very curious because I don't know what I should rush this Fall now.

Looking back I am so glad I got my first choice because my other two choices I would have been so unhappy with. Hard to suggest which house you'd fit best in but sometimes you just don't match up with what house you think you should be in. So you just have to make the best of what house you do get in. Also you can't pick unless you have a bestie in one of the non top tier houses because top houses have quota.

I thought during the Fall we get to decide what houses to go to and don't have to go to them all? I liked recruitment and did "very well" according to social standards, but I got dropped by the two houses I really liked before Pref, and while I could have just joined any of the other three, I wanted to try again.
Sorry I have a lot of questions, if it would help to have my gpa or details on which houses are which I can, I just don't want to start drama with people on here.

Fall recruitment will not be an organized informal recruitment. Parties may be advertised and open to any PNM or the house might just do an invite-only if they have only a couple of openings.
The houses that do informal will depend on what Panhel sets quota at and how many openings a house had after graduation. Even though a house might have openings, they might not choose to participate at all.
So, you can choose which houses you attend based on which you are invited to.
Basically, if your GPA is over 3.0, you are eligible for any house. You are on the bubble if your GPA is 2.7-3.0. If you are less than 2.7, maybe one or 2 houses will take you but that's about it.

-Chapters will know your GPA
-If you tell them you have 3 1/2 years to go, they will think, "Who cares? This girls is weird"
-Can't answer if the houses you Preffed will want you but probably no.

just wait and see what houses are doing informal. go to their open houses if they are having one. email their recruitment people if they aren't having open houses. go once or twice and THEN you can figure out if you're "interested". its a lot harder to get a bid during informal. usually houses only take a couple of girls out of like 30-40 that might rush that particular house. give it your all and good luck

I have a 3.7 and changed my major so I'll still have 3 and a half years probably. Do I have to tell the girls this, or will they know my gpa and that I'll still be at school for along time?
Also will the houses I went to Pref at still want me or be okay with me waiting? The three are really different from what I understand now, and I have friends from my floor in two of them and would still be interested in those two
