I know bids are not given out until then end of the 2 week rush period but do brothers give you any hints if you seem likely to get a bid? Just so you know if you should instead focus on other houses

Some houses will give you bids before that. Just pay attention to how interested they seem in you. If they meet you and try to introduce you to more active members then that's probably a good sign. If you can't tell if they are interested or not you probably don't have the best social skills and aren't likely to get a bid anyway.
