axo?
by: interestedsororitygI was just wondering if people could give me their honest thoughts on AXO, both frats and other sororities! I am a legacy there and was wondering if it was worth looking into or rushing a different sorority. Please be as descriptive and honest! Thank you!

you rush all of the sororities. all 15, not just one. this process is NOT mutual selection, as your rho gams will tell you. the sorority has all the power and knows where you will fit in the best. trust the system. also, my biggest regret going through recruitment was going on sites like this to get opinions of houses. they're all great in their own way, trust me! go through with an open mind and you will end up in a house you fit in with the best. :)

1) she could be a sophomore going through fall and in that case she is completely able to choose where she would look at
2) while the formal recruitment process does favor the sororities it does so through retention rates, so by having a 100% retention (no one does) the sorority gets all the girls they want, as soon as this number drops, which for AXO it would be extremely low, youre looking at AXO wanting only about 50-60% of the women in each round and the other 50-40% wanting them against AXO's wishes. To enhance this situation because PHA knows AXO's retention rate for the girls they want, PHA does their best to give AXO more options so that after Pref AXO has enough girls present that when only 20% accept bids they still have a pledge class size the same as any other house, so each round AXO has more girls in their house too.
Honestly AXO has been going downhill for my whole time at OSU. They're social is poor, their leadership is lacking, and so is their on campus involvement. They're clicky as a whole but that's because they can't be selective and that being said every AXO does seem to truly find a really wonderful best friend within the sorority. So if you're looking to find 2/3 really wonderful genuine friends they'd be an alright place to look at seriously, if you're looking at other factors, honestly they're a poor option.
