Can i drop a sorority and join a new one
by: GirlI joined a sorority this semester and i was just overall unhappy with my experience. I had the options to join a "better" one and am thinking abt dropping my current sorority. I was wondering if i could drop it and rush unformally in the fall or formally following spring. Can anyone outline what a processes for this may look like

as long as you haven’t been initiated you can rush informally in the fall. but if you’ve already been initiated then you can’t join another chapter. the only options from there would be to either stay in your chapter and make the best of it or not be in a sorority at all. i will say however, if the only reason you’re thinking about dropping is because there are “better” options, i highly recommend staying in your chapter and giving feedback to make your experience what you want it to be. if you have legitimate concerns outside of social status then you likely aren’t the only person thinking that. chapters grow with member engagement and you have the power to make what you want of your experience. don’t let other people ruin something that could be a great experience. greek life is great if you have the right mind set so make sure you’re looking at this opportunity with a level head.

No. If you accepted a bid in the spring, you have to wait until the next spring to rush again. But you’ll most likely be blacklisted from all the pha sororities :(
