by: HopeWhat are your opinions of KD and TriDelt? Right now those are the houses I really like a lot. Obviously my opinions/favorites will probably change rush week but for now Id love any information i can get about those two houses!

I'm in a different sorority but I have friends in both KD and DDD, so I'll try to help you out. The best thing you can do is find out for yourself if you like them during recruitment, but here's a little insight:
Grades: KD is 9th, DDD is 6th
Philanthropy: KD supports Girl Scouts, DDD supports St. Jude Children's Hospital. Both great causes, so it depends on which one you like more.
Involvement: This is kind of a hard one to judge. I'd say KD is probably more involved in PHA, and DDD is more involved on campus as a whole
Social: Both are pretty social. KD has more events with upper tier frats, but DDD still likes to rage.
Sisterhood: They both seem to have a good sisterhood. KD is very cliquey, but within those small groups they're all obsessed with each other. DDD is known for being really diverse and has a lot of different types of girls, but they all seem to get along and do a lot together.
Tier: KD recently dropped down to middle tier, but they're still close to being top. DDD has been middle tier for a long time, but they don't really seem to care.

honestly, social calendars are exactly the same in every single house as far as how often. its which frats you associate with which is different.
for example, i have good friends in both kd, ddd, and pi phi. i know for a fact each of those houses have the same number of events. usually 3 pregames/month and 2 tgs/month. which is more than enough. so just to say that one house has more fun than others simply isnt true

KD: mid tier looks with top tier conceitedness, TKE/Phi Psi (two best frats socially) will do events with them but KD is usually their last choice
DDD: All around solid chapter, associates with mid-tier frats, drinks a lot but also very academic chapter and involved on campus.

I like girls in both KD and DDD and dislike girls in both as well. A main difference is just what fraternities they do stuff with. For instance, KD had TGs last year with TKE, Delt, Kappa Sig, Phi psi, and those people while DDD has TGs with Pike, Sig Ep, and more middle tier frats. So if you are looking at frats then KD is the better choice, but I would say DDD has a better sisterhood and still nice girls

I dont think any kds or tridelts think that their houses arent fun or that theyre social calendars are that bad. I know both houses as a whole dont really like TKE (which makes sense because theyre obssesed with Delt and Pike respectively, neither of which are like TKE at all)
So Kappa, DG, Pi Phi, & APhi might have one more pregame every other week & may have a TG with Phi Psi & TKE, so if you're joining for those then Kappa, DG, Pi Phi, & APhi are better. But like the one poster above said the Tridelts get sloppy and the KDs rage too. So really the benefit in those houses are one more pregame every two weeks and two of your TGs would be with Phi Psi & TKE instead of SAE, ATO, AEPi, Figi
