If you signed a bid during formal recruitment, it is binding-you cannot drop out of the sorority and join another one. That is the rule nationwide, and is adhered to by all national panhell sororities. If you accepted a bid informally but didn't sign anything, and didn't join, then you can, but chances are you won't get an upgrade. Best thing is to make it work in the sorority that you are in.

1. all of the houses where you attended pref will definitely know that you had previously signed a bid card and dropped.
2. Every time you go through, your chances of getting any bid are reduced. If you are now a sophomore, your chances drop somewhat; if you are a junior now, they drop dramatically and if you are now a senior, forget it.
3. If you previously accepted a bid to a mid or upper tier, your only chances will be a lower tier. And don't tell us you previously accepted a bid to an upper tier.
4, It is a fact that if you signed a card after Pref, you must wait one full year to sign another

If you attended Bid Day for formal recruitment, you are bound to that sorority for a year and it's a national contract that you sign. You signed that contract when you agreed to the order of your preference round attendance. So say you switched schools and went to Cincy that rushes in the Fall, you would not be allowed to go through the recruitment process again.
This year long contract works for informal recruitment as well but you are signing a more specific contract that says you're bound by PHA rules to just that sorority. (not whoever you end up with a bid from the next day)Some sororities will forget to have you sign this paper right away so if you went through informal, didnt end up liking your house, contact Kate Butler (.669) and see if you signed that paper. If you didnt you could rush again whenever you wanted to
