Most genuine houses will not cut drastically at this round because they too feel like it was too short and not enough. If you are cut, it’s most likely due to poor grades.

Not true. Ohio State uses something called RFM rules eg Release Figures Methodology. The most popular and desired houses have to make very hard cuts each round and release the women they have no intention of bidding. This is kinder to PNMs as it means they don’t get strung along and can focus on other houses. For example Alpha Phi is one of the most popular houses son more women want them than they have bid spots for. So rather than keep inviting back girls they know they don’t want, they cut them and have smaller return parties. Other houses then can invite more women back which means they have a larger pool to bid from.

so how do they make these cuts when only 1-2 actives talking to each of the pnms for like 20 minutes? what do they base their decision on? there are so many girls rushing

They’re going to be making cuts based on rates connections and looks.

So untrue. RFM is in place. Each chapter is told how many PNMs can be asked back and every chapter is given a different number based on return rates from prior years.
Many chapters automatically cut any girl who might be a grade risk. Even though each chapter publishes a minimum GPA, they often have a minimum GPA they are willing to take. Not all chapters but often those that are the top academic chapters. But some chapters don't care at all.
Some chapters will then cut upper classmen, PNMs that members might not have liked in high school, made fools of themselves fall semester or something that went bad during the first round. Top chapters will have their target lists already made where they invite girls they absolutely want (probably know from home or classes) and then fill the rest of the spots with girls who really stood out from Round 1.

there are like 2000 pnms going in. how many do the houses get to take for round 2?

That number is determined by Panhellenic, and won’t be released until the end of the round.

The popular ones can take less than the less-popular houses,
. Google RFM.

RMF is based on each chapter's historic return rates for each round. They go back a few years, put it into some kind of software and PHA tells them how many they can ask back. No one chapter is given the same numbers

Yes exactly. If a house had full rounds, it most likely means they are less exclusive

My insta is private is that ok? Ppl are saying strats make lists based on insta before rush and since mine is private that going to get me cut because they can't see my posts?
Also I don't post a ton.

It’s not going to hurt you but it’s also not going to help you. Good social media profiles will help the chapter remember you and make you stand out.

are the cuts as deep and brutal as the first round? I am nervous! I had more than I thought cut but do like many of the houses I visited for philanthropy.

Usually from philo to sisterhood there are the biggest amount of cuts but honestly it’s a good thing cuz you will have a better idea of where you’ll end up instead of being led on by a house
