which fraternity should i rush?

I'm going to be a sophomore in the fall and I didn't rush this year, but I'm planning on rushing then, and I wanted to know which fraternities should I look at? I'm fairly preppy, come from an upper middle class family, played several varsity sports in high school, and want to join somewhere with good brotherhood that likes to party/be stupid. I know there's a difference between top tier and middle and bottom, but across all fraternities, which would I fit in at?

Go to the involvement fair in the fall and attend different rush events. Every relevant fraternity has social events with sororities and have events almost every weekend. The average fraternity guy is white, upper middle class and played sports in high school so your description isn't exactly unique to a specific fraternity. It's gonna depend on what guys you click with and where you can get a bid.

as of last year,

phi psi was more preppy frat
kappa sig turned out to be the "lifters"/athlete frat
delt was the boy next door/friendzoned frat

ato was top tier frat

I don't really see how SAE is on the same level as Fiji or Sig Ep. They might not be considered top tier but they definitely are comparable to at least Phi Delt/Pike. Phi Psi and TKE aren't going to give bids to just anyone but they do hang out with the hottest girls.

i think the person in comment 2 was talking about types of people. The SAEs are deff nicer, less wild guys.

the new guys this year seem to a be a little more wild. there seniors are really boring though,same with some juniors

Athletic chapters: TKE, Kappa Sig, Delt
Best socials: Phi Psi, TKE
Brotherhood: hard to judge but Delt, Pike, SAE
Laidback guys: Delt, Pike, SAE

sucked at intramurals this year so i dont know where youre getting that theyre athletic

TKE is by far the most athletic chapter. Won every Intramural except softball

Asking "which fraternity should I rush?" is kind of a loaded question. People can give you general stereotypes of chapters or just make up stuff to make other chapters look bad. The only real way to find a good fit is to rush, spend time with brothers and see what their chapter is about.
