Somehow Sammy managed to get a pledge class this semester. I don't understand why any freshmen would pledge a nonexistent fraternity, but it happened.

the guys who were joining Sammy werent doing it for a national reputation or networking, they were rushing for social reasons only. So since Sammy still has a lot of social things, its not a big problem to those guys that the fraternity isnt real

Underground fraternities usually die out within 3 or 4 years after the original chapter shuts down. However, there have been several cases at other schools where underground fraternities continue to operate even when a new revised chapter begins. UPenn, UMichigan, UMaryland, Rutgers, just to name a few still have a few underground fraternities in operation.

they dont want any chance of the underground's recruits to become active, so nationals has made it clear that they won't come back until that's not possible.
Nationals has gone as far as telling the Miami Sammys that if they are to help or associate with the underground Sammys here, that nationals has no problem not having any Sammy chapters in Ohio.
