greek life

by:

New to greek life I have to say I am extremely disappointed with the ratio of top tier frats to sororities. Bottom line there really aren't any solid top tier fraternity here. Phi psi is a top tier by default same with TKE. Hot girls so out number the hot guys. Really what is the ratio of cute/hot guys to cute/hot girls. Greek guys are definitely have the edge.

hey freshman,
GET A LIFE! This is usually the case. Guys aren't as superficial in their rush process and looks doesn't play a role as much. It just happens to be that usually the more confident and outgoing and social guys usually tend to be more attractive. Sorority rush and Fraternity rush are two completely different entitities.

These sort of posts are stupid. Duh, of course there is more top tier frats than sororities, half the top tier got kicked off! The lower tier frats will rise up to fill he vacant spots you just got to give them some time to recruit new guys. After a year or two of new pledge classes some of the lower chapter will be able to compete on phi psi/ TKE's level.

yeah... i think you mixed up Frats with seats. That alone would make you an "idiot". No low tier frat is gonna step up. if anything some mediums will but Greek Life is dying here

Middle tier, you guys need to step up to fill the void. Greek Life was at its best when TKE,Phi Psi,Sigma Chi, Sammy, and Beta all competed with each other for the best parties, girls, and rushes each year. 2 top tier fraternities is unacceptable.

its not even like they dont have the opportunity to. We've had two top frats for a while now. More people come to OSU every year, theres tons of potential guys to pick up. You just suck

We've had two top frats for only two semesters. That gives chapters enough time to get one big pledge class of new guys and one smaller class of leftover upperclassmen. That's not enough for those chapters to compete. By the end of next year things will be very different.

In all honesty "top tier" sororities are in such a mind set of only partying with phi pshi and tke that they don't even give other fraternities a chance and then when they do have a social with a fraternity not in the top tier status, the sorority Doesent even show up...and they do miss out on what can be a great time. I thought greek life was about meeting new ppl not just two fraternities. (Which I don't mind, both seem like well runned frats.)

My friend who just joined alpha phi said she's only had events with TKE and Phi Psi because their social chair won't do anything with anyone else

Ya, I think that's a large part of the issue. TKE and Phi Psi may still be the best, but when you don't do anything with any other fraternities them there's part of your problem

It takes a long time to shed a reputation in Greek life and move up a tier. Just because Beta, Sammy, and Sig Chi fell doesn't mean the middle tier chapters suddenly move up to top tier.

everyone acts like greek life is doomed but you realize that two of the big four frats were in trouble less than a year ago and only one of them was tossed. people on this site are so dumb just go to the o and get drunk
