greek life sucks

I have so many friends in greek life at other schools like UK, Miami, and one at Georgia and after rushing here I realize how crappy our system is. All 3 of those schools have way bigger systems, way more of a social scene and the administration doesn't constantly screw them over. At least at UK and Miami, top tier at OSU is middle tier there. I love this school and wouldn't transfer just because the greek system sucks but it's definitely true.

We all know this. We just have to deal with it. Its really sad that the school won't listen to the outcries of the students. If we could join together and voice our opinions of the unfairness of the situation we may gain some ground but everybody has to do it together.

It's always to say the grass is greener on the other side when it seems like your situation is crap, but go look at the number of fraternities at Miami who have been kicked off in the past few years. Also look at the number of fraternities that are on probation right now here. Greek life throughout the whole entire country is changing.

No really. Just Midwest. Penn state greek life is thriving, so with Southern schools

Alabama's Greek life has been on lockdown along with other SEC schools. Also people have to keep in account that OSU is in a big city, so it's not like other schools in smaller cities where to have a social life you have to join Greek life.

penn state's sororities aren't even allowed to have houses..

While I'm Greek, I would still have a "life" if I wasn't. You can't say that for Oxford, Ohio, Tuscaloosa Alabama, Athens Georgia, Oxford Mississippi, etc. Those "cities" are in the middle of corn fields, where Columbus is not.

Move to one of those cities and see how much fun it is. Green or NOT.

Miami University is more percentage Greek but OSU still overall has more Greeks in terms of raw numbers. That's a lie to say Phi Psi or TKE would be middle tier at Miami or Penn State. I definitely agree that OSU greek life is way too regulated.

lol tke hands down would be middle tier/lower at those other schools. Idk about Phi Psi maybe top if they were lucky.

Phi Psi would be fine at most schools probably not the top fraternity, but I think they would do well. TKE is falling here and if they are falling at OSU they would definitely fall at other schools with real greek life. Kappa Sigma would be cooler if they didn't kick out all of their cool guys during the membership review.

not really, depending on the school, most would not let a membership reviewed chapter be near top tier
