recruitment
by: questionOn average, how many girls go through recruiment?

If over 1,000 girls go through recruitment, then the question is how many girls does each house take which I am guessing doesn't equal 1,000 spots? Some girls don't get bids? Is that a typical # from year to year? I would think some drop out before and during recruitment??

There are not a specific number of spots available before recruitment begins. The quota is based on the number of PNMs (potential new members) that are still in the process as of preference round divided by the number of sororities. That number is quota.
That being said, there will be girls who will drop out because they get dropped by their favorites, signed up but never make it to first round, or decide that Greek life is not for them. The vast majority of girls who go through preference round get bids if they don't suicide by only checking off one sorority on their bid.

It's not 100% - 90% attending pref = 10% don't get a bid. Quota is based on 90% who attend pref. Because some girls never sign bid cards or suicide, a very small number -- much less than 10% -- that don't get bids. The number is more like 2 or 3% that attend Pref don't get bids.

I think they meant more of like will you purposely not get a bid from those 2 houses just from seeing you only put down 2 instead of 3, like in the instance where if you suicide, you have a high risk of not getting the bid solely for the fact that you suicided, does that apply for putting down just 2 as well?

the sororities are preparing for pledge classes of 60, because many will drop, get cut for grades, or just suck
